The Stuart McElrath Company's Vibratory Shakeouts (VSM) and (VSR) are designed for Steel or Iron foundry's needing to break molds apart for casting removal and to reduce the sand lumps for reclamation. The comes in two versions, one designed to be shakeout (VSM) only (maximum throughput) with post sand lump reduction in a device such as a Didion drum and a second version (VSR) (reduced throughput) which incorporates both liners and sieve plates to eliminate the need for post lump reduction processing.

The Vibratory Shakeouts are designed to hold sand molds and castings, with or without flasks, up to 40,000 lbs. in capacity. The deck of the Vibratory Shakeout incorporates steel railroad rail to reduce wear from flasks and castings. Harden breaker points are used for sand lump reduction allow them to flow thought the upper deck plate into the lower chamber of the Vibratory Shakeout.

The lower chamber, in the harden wear liners made of HARDOX further reduce the sand lumps for discharge form the unit. In the VSR model, sieve plates are used to reduce sand lumps down to a maximum size of 3/8", perfect for post shakeout handling and sand reclamation. The Vibratory Shakeout includes an access door for inspection and tramp material removal.

Options for the Vibratory Shakeouts include support legs and motor starters and disconnects. Additionally, SMC can furnish a single, double or 3 sided dust hood for use with the Vibratory Shakeout. See the Dust Collection Systems web page for additional information.
