On October 1, 2007 Quality Electric Steel Steel Castings of Houston, Texas installed a new Stuart McElrath Company VSM shakeout. The 8' x 10' shakeout was designed to handle loads up to 40,000 lbs. with a throughput of 30 ton per hour. In operation, the actual throughput of the VSM exceeded 50 ton per hour!

The VSM is twin electric motor design with a coil spring suspension. HARDOX was used in key wear areas to promote long wear life in handling the abrasive sand and steel castings. Please feel free to call contact SMC for additional information on the VSM and VSR series of shakeouts.
