Why
use an outside firm for project management? To
be done correctly, it must be a full time
occupation for the person in charge of the
project. To often a management employee is given
project responsibilities when they already have
full time position. One or the other WILL
suffer.
Typically, a successful management employee will
be given a new project as they have a proven
track record of success. They get overwhelmed by
the projects details, or their lack of
organizational skills, and do not survive the
project. In SMC's experience this happens more
than 50 percent of the time.
To do
a project correctly, it must be planned in
detail and then followed at every milestone
event in the project schedule. This simply can
not be done on a part time basis and expect the
things to turn out ok. |
